What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile Dysfunction is defined as difficulty in getting and/or maintaining an erection satisfactory for sexual performance. There are many short-lived problems which will lead to men occasionally having difficulty getting an erection, however, erectile dysfunction is a term used when this is a recurring or persistent issue.
While this is more prevalent in older men, this is something which can happen to men of any age and varies in severity. Studies have shown that approximately 40% of men are affected at age 40 and nearly 70% of men are affected at age 70. This widespread presence within the community highlights why it is so important to lose the taboo around this topic and open it up for discussion. It is normally a problem which men can self-diagnose and can now conveniently self-treat.
